Vaishno Devi stampede: Crowd management, RFID tracking among slew of measures announced by J-K LG for safety of pilgrims

Jammu and Kashmir LG Mr. Manoj Sinha announced a slew of measures to ensure the safety of pilgrims visiting the Vaishno Devi Temple in J&K’s Katra in a meeting chaired by him with Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board. It was decided that steps to be included were decongestion of the entire track, appropriate use of technology for effective crowd and queue management and radio frequency identification (RFID) tracking shall be installed. Members of the board will monitor the implementation.
